Spring Break!

We are halfway through Spring semester 2019 and are thankful for Spring Break.  Actually, we are also excited that Nana and Papa are headed to AZ!  They left Michigan a few weeks ago and spent some time in Florida.  The snow birds are now heading here and we are going to meet them to do a little sightseeing with our new rig in Southern AZ.  It will be our maiden voyage and will give us a chance to test out the truck and rig on the open road!

Our first destination is Chiricahua National Monument where we are looking forward to another Junior Ranger experience (well, at least that is what I am looking forward to)! There are a number of great hikes and a scenic drive so I am sure we will have a fun day exploring that park!  After Chiricahua we are headed to Kartchner Caverns State Park.  We've been in AZ for over 20 years and have been told numerous times to go and visit Kartchner, but we have never gotten there.  I am really excited about taking a cave tour!

While I still have work to do while on the road it is nice to have a break from lecture.  It's also exciting to be hitching up and heading out for a few days.  I can't wait to share pictures!

On another note, and following my last sad post...We are all still processing the loss of Stormy.  The kids bring him up often and his absence has really left a hole.  I hate to leave it like this as I know we can give a good home to a kitty in need.  I have reached out to a different adoption agency and filled out an extensive application - sharing our last experience.  They are committed to finding the right animal for us and are working with their foster families to identify a cat that would love to be held and cuddled.  I am hoping that we will be able to find a new family member that will appreciate the affection and attention of Sister.

Finally, in other news, the closing on our last rental house was delayed until mid March because of delays due to repairs required by the lender.  It has been very cold and snowing in the AZ high country and that made it difficult to get a painter out there to scrape off some old exterior paint and repaint.  There was also a bit of roof work that had to be done - another thing that is difficult in the snow.  Ultimately all the repairs were completed, but not in time for a re-inspection prior to our original closing date.  We are looking forward to putting that chapter of our lives behind us and not having to manage any rentals.
